Traci Micek, M.S., CCC-SLP/L - Speech Language Pathologist

Traci is a co-owner of Building Block Pediatric Therapies and has been a Speech Language Pathologist for over 20 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Ithaca College and her Masters of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from Syracuse University. She has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA, Illinois License, and teaching certificate. She has worked in residential housing, private practice, and school settings. Traci has worked with children with various disabilities including; autism, cerebral palsy, a variety of syndromes, language, voice, fluency, articulation/phonology, apraxia, dysarthria, and sensory. She is certified in PROMPT which is a multidimensional approach to teaching motor skills to increase overall communication. She loves working with children and parents to increase a child’s language skills.

Lauri Fowler, M.S., CCC-SLP/L - Speech Language Pathologist

Lauri is a co-owner of Building Block Pediatric Therapies and has been a Speech Language Pathologist for over 20 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology from Indiana University and her Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from Nova Southeastern University. She also has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA, is Licensed to practice in Illinois and holds an Illinois teaching certificate. She is certified in PROMPT which is a multidimensional approach to teaching motor skills to increase overall communication. Additionally, she has received feeding training through Beckman and Talk Tools Sensory Motor Approaches. She has worked in a variety of settings and has a wide range of experience. Her experience and specifications include; articulation, phonology, language, voice, fluency, augmentative communication systems, feeding and swallowing, and sensory systems. She enjoys working with children and families to increase language and feeding skills across all environments.

Lyn Padden, OTR/L - Occupational Therapist

Lyn Padden MS, OTR/L has been working in the pediatric population for over 20 years. She has extensive experience with intensive rehabilitation of pediatric spinal cord, traumatic brain injury, multiple traumas, cerebral palsy, ventilator dependent infants and toddlers and Early Intervention from working at Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Jersey. She also has worked in a school district and has over 15 years of private clinic experience with a focus on sensory integration, Autism Spectrum Disorders, handwriting and other fine motor needs. Lyn has training in sensory integration, multisensory fine-motor and handwriting training including Learning Without Tears and Neuro-kinesthetic Approach to hand function and handwriting, Floor time Approach, Interception, Infant Neuro-Developmental Treatment, strength, balance and coordination training, SOS for Feeding and The Listening Program. Lyn is passionate about helping kids connect with their sensory systems and their environments and helping them to be independent and confident with their fine motor skills.

Colette Gramins., PT/L - Physical Therapist

Colette graduated from Marquette with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She has been working in the physical therapy field and specializing in pediatrics for over 20 years now. She began her pediatric experience working in the public school system and then moved on to private practice and Early Intervention. She has extensive experience in neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, gait abnormalities, torticollis, plagiocephaly, youth sports injuries, along with other gross motor deficiencies. She is early intervention certified, specializing in the 0-3 year old population as an evaluator and as a treating therapist. Colette emphasizes gross motor based activities through naturalistic play as motivation to improve skills to optimal level.

Kristy Roth, M.S., CCC-SLP/L - Speech Language Pathologist

Kristy is a pediatric speech-language pathologist with over 15 years of helping children become enthusiastic communicators. She has had the pleasure of working in both school and clinical settings. This has allowed her to experience working with children at all levels of communication, hear amazing stories of courage and perseverance, and be a part of children becoming successful communicators. She has extensive experience working with children on the autism spectrum, children with delays in expressive language and forming words (speech), childhood apraxia of speech, and those with social/pragmatic and problem-solving difficulties. She is licensed by the Illinois Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech Language Hearing Association, she received PECS basic training, and she is listed as a vetted speech-language pathologist through Apraxia kids. Kristy also served as a mentor and supervisor for graduate students and first year graduates of speech language pathology. She believes family involvement is a crucial component to communication success. Kristy enjoys coaching parents and caregivers on how to carry over skills learned in therapy in a meaningful and fun way. Her goal is to make a positive contribution to you and your child's life by using her range of knowledge and experience in providing enthusiastic and effective therapy.

Deb Beck, OTR/L - Occupational Therapist

Deb received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in occupational therapy and health science from Alvernia University in Reading, PA. Deb is licensed by the state of Illinois to practice Occupational Therapy. Deb has over 20 years of experience as an occupational therapist in a variety of settings including outpatient pediatrics, neuro rehab, acute neuro and orthopedics, and subacute care. Her pediatrics experience includes working with various conditions including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, Down’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Sensory Processing disorder. Deb’s areas of focus typically include; fine motor skills and coordination, visual-perceptual skills, sensory integration, and self-care skills.
